The original window was ordered from James Powell and Sons on 26th April 1937 and was designed by James H, Hogan. 

The factory order book page 308 shows ' Portrait with factory glassblower and laboratory technician  £120.00 fixed. '

After a fire in 1941 the order book shows ' Elmfield House, to replace damaged window, only 2 square feet salvaged ......... £75.00 '
